Why Collaboration Trumps Competition: The Benefits for Society and Your Health

I've come to realize that prioritizing collaboration over competition is crucial for advancing society and individual well-being. From my own experiences, I've learned that relinquishing my ego, supporting others, and engaging in acts of kindness are fundamental to discovering genuine happiness and maintaining personal health.

In the past, I harbored ambitions of excelling in football, powerlifting, and even strongman contests. However, this pursuit led me to use anabolic steroids, which ultimately contributed to the onset of schizophrenia. Through this ordeal, I came to understand that excessive competitiveness posed a threat to my health and well-being. While healthy competition has its merits, I made the conscious decision to shift my focus to collaboration and assisting others in their pursuit of health and well-being.

I've found that strength training greatly benefits my mental well-being. Although I still strive to achieve better results in the deadlift, squat, and bench press, I've chosen to refrain from competing or comparing myself to others. Instead, I derive fulfillment from surpassing my personal bests and motivating others to strive for their own highest potential.
